Aegis Global Grants is a specialist grants-management practice for organisations
funded by the European Commission, UN agencies and international donors.
For over fifteen years our team audited those grants on the donors’ behalf.
Now we sit on your side of the table — running your funding so that nothing
in it would ever worry an auditor.
One engagement model, four phases. Take the whole lifecycle or bring us in
at the phase where your team needs cover — every deliverable is built to
stand up to the donor’s own review.
1.0
Pre-award
Before you sign, we make sure the money works. Proposal budgets built on the
donor’s actual eligibility rules, co-financing that adds up, and partners
vetted before they become your risk.
Proposal budgeting in the donor’s own format
Compliance review of the grant agreement before signature
Partner and sub-recipient due diligence

Set-up
The first ninety days decide the final report. We install the controls,
procedures and reporting calendar the grant needs — matched to your
accounting system, whatever it is.
Financial policies and procedures, donor-specific
Budget structure and cost-tracking set-up in your ERP
Reporting calendar and documentation standards

Implementation
Month by month, we keep the budget honest. Expenditure is checked for
eligibility as it happens — not discovered as a problem two years later —
and every donor report goes out complete and on time.
Budget execution monitoring and forecasting
Eligibility checks on expenditure as it is incurred
Donor financial reporting — EC, UN, GIZ, USAID formats

Close-out
The grant ends; the file remains. We close the project with a final report
the donor can verify line by line, and a documentation file ready for any
external review — this year or five years from now.

We were the auditors
Grant management is usually learned from the grantee’s side — by making
mistakes and paying for them. Our team learned it from the other side of the
table: auditing grant beneficiaries on behalf of the European Commission, UN
agencies and GIZ, then managing donor portfolios inside international
organisations. We know exactly which line an auditor will question, which
document they will ask for, and which finding costs organisations their funding
— because for fifteen years, we wrote those findings.

One practice, one discipline
Aegis Global Grants does one thing: the management of donor-funded
grants. No general accounting, no side lines — a single discipline,
practised to the standard of the auditors we used to be.
And when your grant is audited, we don’t compete with your auditor — we
prepare you for them. Your documentation, your eligibility positions and your
reporting will already be in the state an auditor expects to find them.
